Experience

Keith Koeneman’s professional experience spans M&A, investment banking, private equity, and corporate law. Since starting his career at Kidder, Peabody in 1990, he has personally negotiated, advised on, or invested in more than 30 transactions ranging from $6 MM – $2.3 BB, including sell-side transactions, M&A, private equity, IPOs, recapitalizations, and strategic alliances. He has significant experience both with private, middle-market businesses and public companies. Mr. Koeneman’s industry expertise includes: business services, healthcare, manufacturing, food & beverage, warehouse automation, technology, e-commerce, and education & training.

Mr. Koeneman held senior positions at Merrill Lynch, Divine Interventures and Banc of America Securities. At these institutions, Mr. Koeneman focused on highly-negotiated transactions, including M&A and private equity. His responsibilities included sourcing, negotiating and closing investments, as well as assisting management teams in growing their companies internally and through acquisitions. Additionally, he served as a Board of Director for private equity-backed companies. He practiced law at Katten Muchin Rosenmann LLP, where he advised clients on complex private equity, securities and corporate transactions.

Mr. Koeneman is also a published author. His initial book, First Son: The Biography of Richard M. Daley, was published by The University of Chicago Press. He has also had articles published in the Huffington Post, the Chicago Tribune and other publications. He lives in Chicago with his wife Claire and his two teenage sons, Penn and Drake.
